Messiah Choir

The Sydney Massed Choir is perhaps Sydney Philharmonia's most enthusiastic group. The Massed Choir can have up to 450 members and sings in the very large choral orchestral works, normally once or twice a year. It is a choir designed for singers who love to sing but do not have the time or inclination to commit to the rehearsal schedule of the main choirs.

There is no audition for entry into the Massed Choir, but members must be able to commit to the rehearsal schedule for a particular program and pay a registration fee. If you would like to receive information on Massed Choir events, please contact us to register your details.

As well as our annual performances of Handel’s Messiah , this choir has performed in Carmina Burana, the Sydney Symphony Superdome Spectacular, Handel’s Israel in Egypt and the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
