“If music be the food of love, play on.”
– Twelfth Night Act 1, Scene 1

Conductor: Brett Weymark
Soloist: Peter Coleman-Wright
Sydney Philharmonia Festival Chorus and Orchestra

Amadeus was among the most popular and praised concerts
of season 2009 and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs returns in
2010 with another inventive marriage of music and movies: Songs for Shakespeare.

From Hamlet to Othello to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the works of William Shakespeare have provided inspiration to some of the world’s finest composers and more than a century of cinema directors. Songs for Shakespeare will imaginatively combine an array of Shakespeare-inspired music with some of the bard’s memorable moments from the silver screen.

Acclaimed baritone Peter Coleman-Wright is widely considered one of the most versatile singers in Australia today. He has performed internationally with the Glyndebourne Opera, the English National Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and of course locally with Opera Australia.
