Sydney Philharmonia is Australia’s leading choir and we are delighted to invite you to join us – we have ongoing recruitment throughout the year!

Each year our nationally and internationally renowned choirs present major choral repertoire including both sacred and secular works, famous classical choral pieces and popular classics for all to enjoy. We perform a cappella and also with various orchestras reflecting the variety of music in the season. We have an ongoing partnership with the Sydney Symphony, and frequently share the platform with internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors.

People who join us as choristers get the fabulous opportunity to sing wonderful music with a top standard of voices, conductors, orchestras and venues. Choristers reap the rewards of performing: they enjoy a strong sense of achievement as well as discovering a great way to release the pressure and stress of everyday life!

FROM ABSOLUTE BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:

CHORUSOZ

Are you interested in the choral experience but more keen than confident about singing? ChorusOz gives you the chance to sing a great choral work in the Sydney Opera House in June 2012– with NO AUDITION requirements – you just sign up, show up and sing in an intensive weekend of rehearsing and performing with 1,000 other participants! FESTIVAL CHORUS

Perfect for people who can sing in tune but are time poor our Festival Chorus rehearses for and sings in TWO performances a year. Entry into this choir is by participation in a free voice assessment and choir placement day. Our next Festival Chorus Open Day will be recruiting new singers next year on Sunday 5 February, 10am-12pm for the 2012 program.The Open Day features a workshop and voice placement with Brett Weymark. SYMPHONY CHORUS
Are you an experienced choral singer wanting to take the next step up and willing to commit to a year-round season of performances? Then audition for our 100+ voice Symphony Chorus.

 

CHAMBER SINGERS
In an esteemed class of their own the 32-voice Chamber Singers are often selected from the Symphony Chorus as well as through independent auditions.

VOX
Our ‘coolest’ choir - if you are between the ages of 16 and 26 and have good musicianship and choral experience then this is the choir for you! VOX performs a wide repertoire in a variety of performance spaces.  Go to our VOX page for more information and how to register for an Audition.
