MASSED CHOIR
The Sydney Massed Choir is perhaps Sydney Philharmonia's most enthusiastic group. Boasting up to 450 members, the choir sings in the very large choral orchestral works, normally once or twice a year. It is a choir designed for singers who love to sing but do not have the time or inclination to commit to the rehearsal schedule of the main choirs. As well as Sydney Philharmonia’s annual performances of
Handel’s Messiah, the choir has performed in
Carmina Burana, the
Sydney Symphony Superdome Spectacular, Handel’s
Israel in Egypt and the
Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
