The Symphony Chorus is the largest of Sydney Philharmonia's permanent choirs with over 100 voices. Symphony Chorus performs the large choral orchestral repertoire with great precision and acclaimed performances have included Tippett's A Child of Our Time, Bach's St John Passion and Berlioz's Te Deum.

Symphony Chorus have an exciting year of tackling some of the great works in the choral repertoire. They open the season with Bach's St John Passion and will visit later in the year his monumental Mass in B Minor. Revelling in the perfect acoustics of Angel Place, they will perform Brahm's Ein Deutsches Requiem in a version arranged by the composer for two pianos and soloists. It is a chance to explore the work as chamber music. They will finish the year with Handel's Messiah and you will hear them with the Sydney Symphony in works such as Adam's Harmonium, Holst's the Planets and Mahler's Resurrection Symphony working with such well known conductors as Edo de Waart and Vladimir Ashkenazy.
