Bruce Watson– Non-Executive Director
Bruce was inspired to sing with choirs by Elizabeth Swain in the 1970s and choral singing has been an important part of his life ever since. He currently sings with Sydney Philharmonia Choirs’ Chamber Singers.
With a degree in mathematics from the University of NSW he subsequently qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in Australia and practised as a consulting actuary for 25 years. Bruce was a principal of Mercer and Trowbridge Consulting and a partner of Deloitte before being one of the founding Directors of Finity Consulting in 2005. He later served in a senior executive role with the Commonwealth Government and currently works part-time as a self-employed consultant.
A long-term supporter of the arts and for-purpose organisations, Bruce was a pro bono member of Oxfam Australia’s Finance and Risk Committee for many years and is currently on the board of a small opera company. In 2018 Bruce and a colleague financed the rescue of Limelight magazine from insolvency and he continues to be an owner and director of Limelight Arts Group.
