Chorus Oz
Our annual big sing at the Sydney Opera House, spend a weekend immersed in music and perform to your family and friends in an experience you will never forget
Regardless of expertise, you can turn the dream of singing on the stage of the Sydney Opera House into an indelible reality.
Our choristers often proclaim that singing with us has changed their lives forever. From rehearsal to performance, you’ll be joyously led by charismatic Music Directors, Brett Weymark and Elizabeth Scott.
The Discover workshop allows you to explore the music to be performed in a relaxed and informal setting, in the Northern Foyer of the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. Learn about the composer, the history of the work and even sing some selections from the piece. Then take a seat inside the Concert Hall and watch the first time everyone comes together: Choir, soloists and orchestra.
All abilities are welcome!

ChorusOz® was the brainchild of Brett Weymark to allow those who couldn’t commit to a regular choir the opportunity to sing on the stage of the Sydney Opera House once a year. It has since become a fixture in the Sydney Opera House and in the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs calendar.
2019 will be the 14th year of ChorusOz®. Every year since 2005 people from all over Australia and further afield have come together to present a well know choral work or works. Learning the music beforehand and then coming together for one weekend of rehearsals and performance.
People travel from across Australia and the world to enjoy the experience of singing a large-scale choral work at the Sydney Opera House, sharing the experience with up to 1000 other passionate singers, world class soloists and the Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra. Many people say it is a life-changing experience, and others say they wouldn’t miss it. It is one of the highlights of the year – no audition or assessment is required.
