Jonquil Ritter – Non-Executive Director – Member
Jonquil has Arts and Law degrees from the Australian National University. Her long career in senior legal and management positions in the Australian Public Service culminated in her being the General Counsel and then acting General Manager of the Content and Consumer Division of the Australian Communications and Media Authority. In these roles she played a major part in the leadership and good governance of the agency.
Since leaving full-time employment in 2020, Jonquil has spent her time following her passion for the arts and especially her love of singing. While continuing with her long-time community choir ‘Alkira’, she recommenced singing lessons with the fabulous Mel Kenny (conductor of ‘Alkira’), joined Sydney Philharmonia Choirs in 2021 and obtained her AMusA Diploma in Singing Performance from the Australian Music Examinations Board in 2023.
Jonquil spent three years on the Board of Kim Carpenter’s Theatre of Image with a focus on philanthropic activities. Now, with some time and energy to spare, she is enthusiastic about the opportunity to make a contribution to the ongoing success of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
Term expires AGM 2026.
