CHAMBER SINGERS
The 32-voice Chamber Singers perform a wide variety of works, often in more intimate settings such as City Recital Hall Angel Place and St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Standout performances in recent years have included the sell-out Bach
Mass in B Minor,
World Youth Day celebrations including Missa Solemnis with the Sydney Symphony, the world premiere performances of Andrew Schultz’s
Journey to Horseshoe Bend with Sydney Symphony, Bach’s
St Mark Passion, and a program of works by Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland and Dominick Argento. The choir was invited to the
Cambridge Summer Music Festival in 2002 and thus had the privilege of presenting a concert in King’s College Chapel, Cambridge. As a small group, the audition process is the most selective of the choirs in Sydney Philharmonia, with a focus on vocal quality, sight reading skills, and the need for a particular voice part within the group.
